24 November 2025
On Monday, 24th November 2025, the first meeting of the National Platform for Digital Inclusion was held in Belgrade. The platform was established within the regional Digital Inclusion Initiative project, funded by the European Union.
The meeting was opened by Žaklina Veselinović from the Centre for Education Policy, followed by a presentation of the platform’s structure and objectives, as well as the project’s activities. The National Report for Serbia, prepared within the project, was presented to the participants. The report provides an initial analysis of the state of digital inclusion in Serbia.
A discussion followed with the aim of operationalizing the recommendations from the report and defining the action priorities of the National Platform during the project. Directions for joint actions and opportunities for future initiatives were agreed upon.
This meeting marks the beginning of ongoing cooperation — in the upcoming period, additional events will be organized to support knowledge exchange and the development of recommendations that contribute to equitable access to digital technologies in Serbia.
The National Platform brings together representatives of relevant institutions and experts —decision-makers and policy creators at the national and local levels, representatives of schools, civil society organizations, research/academic institutions, organizations and companies from business sector, and individuals working on topics of digitalization and/or social inclusion.
The Digital Inclusion Initiative project addresses a critical aspect of modern participatory democracy—ensuring equal access to digital tools and information, which is essential for informed citizen participation and engagement in democratic processes, and also deals with an important aspect of the EU integration process.
The project consortium consists of: the Centre for Education Policy, Serbia; the Kosovo Education Center, Kosovo*; the Center for the Development of Civil Society, Albania; proMENTE Social Research, Bosnia and Herzegovina; the Centre for Educational Initiatives 'Step by Step,' Bosnia and Herzegovina; and the Macedonian Civic Education Center, North Macedonia.
More information about the project is available on the project’s website and social media channels.
