Summary

This publication is produced within the Project "Combating early school leaving in Serbia through effective dropout prevention and intervention measures at the school level", implemented by the Centre for Education Policy in partnership with UNICEF Serbia and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

It deals with the topic of education and school learning in an unusual way. It does not deal directly with learning during classes, regular nor remedial; it deals with necessary conditions that have to be satisfied for learning to happen during remedial instruction, but also that are a prerequisite for quality instruction in general. It relies on a rich literature that covers research findings, educational policy and comparative analysis, combined with purpose of preventing dropout from education and providing effective remedial instruction.

This book is intended for a variety of readers - teachers, experts, scientists and other interested individuals involved in the practice, theory and educational policy, research methodology in education, management of school, classroom or organisation, and those providing additional support.
