Multidisciplinary researches of education and science on macro (system) and mezzo (institutions) level are very rare in
Serbia, but in region as well, Although there is a long tradition of pedagogic researches, it is obvious that certain segments and topics have been neglected. Primarily, that refers to analysis of system functioning as whole, both from economic perspective and perspective of political sciences (in a sense of analyzing process of policy formulations, decision making and relationships between relevant stakeholders). As a consequence, we are facing lack of quality information on the educational system and lack of transparency within certain process, and also difficulties in creating appropriate improvement recommendations. We are also lacking analysis of effects of science and education on the society as whole, especially on diminishing social gaps.

Due to all this, multidisciplinary researches of education and science are among the most important activities of CEP.
